Russia targets critical infrastructure in Odesa Oblast

Russian forces launched a drone strike on Odesa Oblast, targeting port infrastructure in the Izmail district, local governor Oleh Kiper reported early on Jan. 17.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the attack.

“The enemy attacked the port infrastructure," Kiper wrote.

"The strike caused damage to building facades and a residential house. Emergency services are on-site.”

Meanwhile, Russian forces also carried out an overnight drone assault on Kyiv Oblast, injuring a 12-year-old boy. Local authorities reported drone debris falling on a residential area, wounding the child, who was hospitalized with a laceration and a suspected concussion.

The attack ignited a fire in a café-store and an adjacent boiler room, which spread across nearly 200 square meters before being extinguished.
