Russian commanders are ordering the rape and mutilation of subordinates who refuse to participate in hopeless assaults, Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) wrote on March 12.

An atmosphere of total fear prevails within the ranks of the Russian army, HUR noted. Commanders do not hesitate to order the rape and mutilation of troops who try to save their lives by refusing to storm Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions.

The officers also published the Russian call intercept.

"We took him, we took him, we brought the '500' [refusenik - ed.] here," one Russian invader said, regarding possible detention of another soldier, who refused to assault Ukrainian positions.

"Now we will have a preventive conversation."

Following this, the unit commander orders his subordinates to sexually assault the soldier.

Ukrainian intelligence also noted that any attempt to resist or desert the Russian army is punishable by execution on the spot.

Over the past day, Russia lost about 860 soldiers in the war against Ukraine.

As of March 13, total Russian military losses amount to an estimated 1,277,620 troops killed and wounded.
