Russian drones strike foreign-flagged cargo ship in Ukrainian sea corridor

Russia attacked a commercial vessel heading to Odesa to load grain with drones in the Ukrainian maritime corridor, causing a fire on board, the Ukrainian Ministry of Communities and Territories Development reported on April 24.

A fire broke out on board and the navigation system failed, according to the ministry's data.

The crew extinguished the fire on their own, and a boat was dispatched to escort the vessel, the ministry noted. There are preliminarily no casualties as a result of the attack.

The Saint Kitts and Nevis-flagged bulk carrier was struck by two UAVs, Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority clarified.

Russian troops attacked residential neighborhoods in Odesa on the night of April 24, leaving an elderly couple dead and another 15 people injured.

Several residential buildings were destroyed and damaged in the city, some residents were evacuated, and rescuers assisted over 50 people suffering from severe stress.
