Russian strike drones attacked three energy infrastructure facilities in Ternopil Oblast, damaging power sites to cut heat and electricity, regional military administration reported on Oct. 20.

"The enemy is purposefully attempting to incapacitate our energy infrastructure and leave the civilian population without electricity and heat," regional authorities wrote.

Russian strike drones penetrated Oblast's airspace multiple times throughout the night in successive waves. In addition to the strikes on grid assets in Kremenets district, blast waves and falling debris damaged several private residential households in Chortkiv district.

The bombardment marks the second major strike against the region's electrical grid within 48 hours. On Oct. 18, Russian attack drones struck energy infrastructure targets near the settlement of Staryi Vyshnevets in Ternopil Oblast.

Nationwide Overnight Drone Incursions

Russian forces mounted a coordinated, multi-vector drone offensive across Ukraine overnight into Oct. 20, triggering air raid alerts across western, central, and northern oblasts.

Concurrently with the Ternopil assault, Russian drones struck a critical energy infrastructure facility in Lviv Oblast and damaged a commercial manufacturing enterprise in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

In the border city of Sumy, an attack drone directly struck a multi-story residential apartment building in the Zarichnyi district around 2 a.m., igniting a blaze.

In Obukhiv district, Kyiv Oblast, an overnight drone strike completely leveled an industrial manufacturing and warehouse building, killing three civilians, injuring six others, and requiring extensive search and rescue operations to clear structural debris.
