According to Astra, Energiya’s products are widely used in Russia’s defense industry, civil aviation, maritime transport, and energy sector. The company manufactures batteries, including those used for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as power systems for aircraft and naval vessels.

Energiya is one of Russia’s largest producers of chemical power sources. It also manufactures batteries and accumulators for Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, Kh-35U cruise missiles, and power modules for specialized military systems.

In July 2025, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Defense Forces had struck the Energiya plant, forcing it to suspend production at the time.

In May, Ukrainian forces also attacked the facility. The General Staff confirmed strikes in the area of the plant.
