Explosions could be heard in the Russian city of Lipetsk, as local residents reported drone activity and air defense systems operating, Russian Telegram channel Shot wrote on Feb. 13.
The Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, one of Russia’s largest steel manufacturers, may have been the target of the attack.
Lipetsk Oblast governor, Igor Artamonov, confirmed the drone attack, claiming that debris fell on a local aeration station and private homes. However, he did not mention any attack on the steel plant.
Russian authorities were yet to confirm any damage to industrial facilities.
