Shahed drones' components warehouse destroyed in Russia

A warehouse housing components for the production of 400 Shahed-136 drones, worth $16 million, was destroyed in fire in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone of Tatarstan, Russia, Ukraine's Military Intelligence (HUR) reported on Dec. 23.

The facility reportedly stored 65 drone fuselages, engines, navigation systems, and thermal cameras intended for the Shahed UAVs assembly. HUR described the "mysterious and devastating fire" as another blow to Russia's military-industrial complex.

Details on the fire cause or date remain undisclosed.

Drone strike on Kazan on Dec. 21

On Dec. 21, UAVs struck Kazan in Tatarstan, Russia. Local authorities reported impacts on residential buildings and an industrial site. Videos circulating online show drones crashing into high-rise structures, possibly due to Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems.

Reports suggest the drones may have hit the Kazan Powder Plant, with residents noting explosions at the facility.
