Russian drone hits clinic in Kyiv, 26 patients inside

26 patients were inside a private clinic in the Obolon district, that came under a Russian drone strike overnight, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Jan. 5.

16 patients were transferred to municipal hospitals across the capital.

Four people were injured in the attack, two of them in serious condition, he added.

Ukraine’s National Police clarified, that women aged 42, 77, and 97, were among the injured.

A man born in 1995 was killed. He was receiving inpatient treatment at the clinic at the time of the strike.

Explosions were heard overnight in Kyiv and in its suburbs as Russia launched a Shahed drone attack. Reports also indicated the takeoff of Russian MiG-31K fighter jets and bombers.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, a four-story medical facility in Kyiv’s Obolon district was hit, causing a fire. Emergency responders evacuated 25 people from the hospital.
