Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina (WTA No. 27) delivered a stunning performance to defeat 'neutral' athlete Veronika Kudermetova (WTA No. 75) in the Australian Open fourth round, Eurosport Tennis reported on its YouTube channel on Jan. 20.

Svitolina mounted an incredible comeback in the opening set, clawing her way back from 1-4 down to win five consecutive games and claim the set 6-4.

The second set was far less dramatic, as the Ukrainian dominated Kudermetova 6-1 to close out the match.

Svitolina needed just one hour and 20 minutes to seal her place in the Australian Open quarterfinals for the first time in six years.

This marks her third career appearance in the Australian Open quarterfinals, having previously reached this stage in 2018 and 2019. It will also be her 12th Grand Slam quarterfinal overall.

The Ukrainian is now just one step away from her fourth Grand Slam semifinal.

In the quarterfinals, Svitolina will face Madison Keys (WTA No. 12) from the United States.
