Three people are now confirmed dead in total as a result of the attack.
Powerful explosions rocked Kyiv overnight on July 4. As a result of a combined drone and ballistic missile attack by Russia, 23 people were injured in the capital. Debris fell in five districts, causing multiple fires and significantly worsening air quality across the city.
Local authorities reported numerous damages on residential buildings, educational and medical institutions, non-residential facilities, ambulances, and warehouses. Ukrainian Railways reported damage to rail tracks within the city.
The building of the Polish Consulate in Kyiv was also damaged, Poland's Foreign Ministry said.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia carried out a record number of attacks that night — 550 targets in total, including 539 drones and 11 missiles, with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile among them. A record number of Shahed drones — over 330 — were used. Air defense forces managed to intercept 476 drones and two Iskander-K cruise missiles.
