Traffic on the bridge connecting Kherson Oblast and Crimea has been suspended. He advised drivers to use alternative routes through Armyansk and Perekop.
Overnight on June 7, Ukrainian FP-2 and Behemot drones attacked the Chonhar bridge. The strike was carried out by units of the Phalange multi-domain operations center of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment and the 475th Separate Assault Regiment Code 9.2.
The bridge carries the R-280 highway, built by the occupation authorities, which connects Russia's Rostov-on-Don to Crimea via the occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast. This route is a critical logistics artery for supplying Russian troops on the peninsula.
According to Militarnyi, the June 7 strike marked the first known combat use of the Behemot kamikaze drone, initially unveiled by GLEFA and Culver Aerospace in late May 2026.
Ukrainian strikes on enemy logistics
In early June, Kyrylo Budanov noted that Ukrainian drone attacks on the land corridor to the peninsula are part of a systematic campaign. According to him, destroying this segment, which Russia has turned into a main supply artery for its troops in the south, significantly complicates the occupiers' plans.
Alongside strikes on overland routes, Defense Forces are successfully dismantling the enemy's maritime logistics. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported hitting a Russian ship off the coast of Crimea, and just days later, overnight on June 4, another drone attack near the peninsula destroyed a Russian patrol boat.
