Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to detect and destroy the enemy in this area.
Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi earlier sent additional troops and equipment to the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk sectors, including the 1st Azov Corps. Together with adjacent units, they are inflicting significant losses on Russian forces.
General Staff data indicated that 151 Russian soldiers have been eliminated, about 70 wounded, and eight taken prisoner over the past two days in the Azov Corps’ area of responsibility.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces are continuing search-and-strike operations, and “the situation is stabilizing,” Kovalyov added.
Situation in Dobropillia, Donetsk Oblast
On Aug. 11, DeepState analysts reported that Russian forces were actively advancing near Dobropillia (Pokrovsk district). The rapid seizure of settlements in this sector could allow Russian troops to push deeper into Ukrainian territory.
Former chief of staff of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade Bohdan Krotevych (Tavr call sign) appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying that Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are almost encircled, and Kostyantynivka is in a semi-encirclement.
On Aug. 12, the General Staff reported that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups infiltrated the settlements of Vesele, Vilne, Rubizhne, and Kucheriv Yar in the Pokrovsk sector, exploiting the local terrain. However, the Defense Forces have already destroyed some of them.
The Azov Corps announced that its fighters have now taken up positions in the Pokrovsk sector.
