Explosions and massive fire break out at Shahed storage base in Krasnodar Krai after Ukrainian strike

A massive fire broke out at a Shahed storage base near Yeysk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai following a Ukrainian attack, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Russian service wrote on Telegram late on Oct. 9.

Local residents reported hearing explosions at the site of the attack. The area surrounding the warehouse has been cordoned off. The fire is estimated to cover an area of around 800 square meters.

Russian Telegram channels have posted videos of the fire raging at the base.

The Defense Forces struck a Russian Shahed storage in Krasnodar Krai, Ukraine's General Staff confirmed on Oct. 9.

The strike was reportedly carried out by the Navy's strike group in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), targeting the base near the village of Oktyabrsky, where about 400 attack drones were being stored.
