She also noted that the city’s water utility, is operating on backup generators, ensuring that water supply and sewage systems continue to function.

"UmanTeploKomunEnergo is working on restoring heat to your homes," the mayor added.

Cherkasy Oblast Governor Ihor Taburets confirmed that the attack caused damage near Uman, though no casualties have been reported.

"Air defense operated in the area, but unfortunately, the enemy’s strikes still caused damage in Uman," he wrote.

"The services are working to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible." 

Russian drone attack on Jan. 28

The Russian forces launched multiple groups of Shahed drones toward Ukraine, triggering air raid alerts across several oblasts overnight on Jan. 28. Ukrainian air defense operated in Kyiv Oblast, while explosions were reported in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy oblasts.
