Video of day

Russia attacked Ukraine on Feb. 24. Nov. 4 is the 256th day of the full-scale invasion. The invaders initially tried to attack from the north, east and south, attacking with artillery and aircraft. Russia continues to strike civilian objects across Ukraine.

The Kremlin has changed the goals of its war several times already.

Only one oblast center, Kherson, has been occupied by the invaders, along with parts of Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv oblasts.

The Ukrainian army is continuing its counter-offensive in the east and south of Ukraine, hitting Russian ammunition depots and personnel. Almost all of Kharkiv Oblast was has been liberated.

On Sept. 21 a "partial mobilization" was declared in Russia.

On Sept. 30, Russia claimed it had annexed four Ukrainian regions after holding sham “accession referendums” in the Ukrainian territories.

Only a handful of rogue states and pariah regimes have recognized the Kremlin’s false claims to have annexed parts of Ukraine’s territory.
