Ukraine has almost complete control over Kherson as of Nov. 11, said Ministry of Defense advisor Yuriy Sak, the BBC reported on Nov. 11.
According to Sak, the invaders in Kherson are trying to blend in with the locals.
“Russians are taking off their military uniforms and throwing them in trash cans and try to blend in with the locals,” he said.
Ukraine calls on them to “surrender, save their lives, and not behave stupidly,” he added.
However, it is too early to “calm down” and Ukraine knows that the war is far from over, Sak emphasized.
The Ukrainian flag was draped over a plinth in front of the Kherson city council building on Nov. 11, following statements by the Russian Ministry of Defence that it had allegedly completed the withdrawal of Russian forces from the occupied city.
Meanwhile, local residents have been posting photos of Russian soldiers changing into civilian clothes in an attempt to blend in the locals, in order avoid falling into the hands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
To date, the Defense Forces have already liberated a number of towns and villages in the southern direction, including Snihurivka, Bruskinske, Borozenske and Kyselivka.
