Local news outlet RIA Melitopol reported on July 11, according to preliminary reports, there were two incoming attacks in the city, and the air defenses of the Russian invaders were activated three or four times.

The explosions were heard especially clearly by the inhabitants of the villages of Kostyantynivka and Voznesenka, which are about 5-6 kilometers to the east of Melitopol, reports said.

After the attack on Melitopol was over, a convoy of Russian military vehicles was seen driving towards the south.

The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that two explosions occurred somewhere to the north of Melitopol starting at 2:30 a.m. with a 20 minutes difference. What exactly was blown up is now being established.

“Currently, the information about the explosions is being verified,” said Fedorov. “We know there were several of them. Something that belongs to the fascists (referring to Russian troops), but located on our territory, has been destroyed.”

The Ukrainian army put out of action one out of the four Russian military bases in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhya Oblast, on the night of July 3. An enemy military base was completely destroyed in that attack.

After that, the Russian troops began to deploy military equipment in the residential areas of Melitopol, according to the mayor of the city.
