70+ Ukrainian settlements face power cuts amid severe weather – Ukrenergo

74 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kyiv, and Chernihiv oblasts were left without power as a result of stormy weather, Ukrenergo reported on Telegram on Nov. 4.

Energy workers are continuing restoration efforts on the power lines, but adverse weather conditions are expected to persist throughout the day.

Electricity consumption hikes due to dropping temperatures across Ukraine.

As of the morning of Nov. 4, consumption levels were 8.5% higher than on the previous working day - Nov. 1.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening, marking a 4.4% increase from the previous Sunday, Oct. 27.

Storm winds toppled trees, knocked down fences, tore kiosk roofs in Kyiv in the morning of Nov. 4.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center issued a storm warning for all of Ukraine except Zakarpattya Oblast. 

"Wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected, and the danger level has been set at 'yellow', - the first level of danger," meteorologists said.
