The components came from companies in the United States, China, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, and the Netherlands.
Zelenskyy specified that the Russian strike drones contained about 100,688 imported components, the Iskander missiles — 1,500, the Kinzhal missiles — 192, and the Kalibr cruise missiles — 405.
He added that U.S. companies manufacture converters for Kh-101 missiles and Shahed/Geran drones, sensor matrices for drones and Kinzhal missiles, analog-digital converters for UAVs and missiles, as well as microelectronics for missile guidance systems.
In addition:
At least 50 types of microelectronic components in every Shahed come from China and Taiwan.
Microcontrollers for drones are made in Switzerland, and microcomputers for drone flight control are produced in the UK.
Optoisolators for cruise missiles are manufactured in Japan, while connectors come from Germany.
Russia also uses processors from the Netherlands and servomotors and bearings from South Korea.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is preparing new sanctions against those helping the aggressor state and has already presented proposals to partners for cutting off illicit supply chains.
“Our partners have full data on each company and each product involved — they know exactly how and where to respond,” he said.
“This week’s G7 sanctions coordinators’ meeting should deliver a systematic decision to make sanctions truly effective. It’s crucial to close all loopholes because Russia exploits every such scheme to continue the killing. The world has the power to stop it.”
Russian mass attack on Oct. 5
On the evening of Oct. 4, Russia launched several waves of drones.
Overnight on Oct. 5, Ukrainian Air Force tracked the takeoff of Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers and MiG-31K fighters launching Kinzhal and Kh-101 missiles.
Most air targets headed toward western Ukraine, particularly Lviv Oblast, marking the largest attack on Oblast since the war onset.
The strike on Lviv Oblast killed a family of four.
Russia also conducted a combined drone and glide-bomb attack on Zaporizhzhya, causing power and water outages and a fire at an industrial site. One person was killed.
According to Zelenskyy, the attack involved over 50 missiles and nearly 500 attack drones and hit Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad oblasts.
Ukraine's gas provider Naftogaz reported that Russian strikes targeted critical gas infrastructure, essential for the heating season.
