Loud explosions were heard across Crimea, including in Simferopol and Sevastopol, with a likely attack on a Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters, Krymskii Veter (Crimean Wind) Telegram channel reported on May 27.

Crimean Wind earlier reported that after the destruction of the main headquarters, the Air Force command center has been used as the primary governing body. Additionally, a fire broke out near Sevastopol Bay, the channel wrote.

Witnesses write that ambulances are rushing to the center of Sevastopol from different parts of the city.

Crimean Wind noted that on the night of May 27, UAVs attacked three airfields (Belbek, Saki, and Kacha) and military units on Cape Fiolent. Simferopol and Sevastopol were targeted by missiles.

On May 25, explosions rattled occupied Crimea. Local residents reported sounds of blasts and air defense activity in occupied Sevastopol, Simferopol, and the northern part of the peninsula.

On May 17, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that, together with the Defense Forces, it struck the infrastructure and air defense assets of Belbek military airfield in occupied Crimea.

It was reported that Ukrainian forces hit:

  • A Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft system;

  • An Orion UAV control system and a ground control station for the Forpost UAV;

  • A "ground-to-air" data transmission point;

On April 26, SBU reported that its drone strikes on the Russian Black Sea Fleet base in Sevastopol and Belbek military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea had damaged three warships, a fighter jet, and air defense facilities.
