Rescuers pull elderly woman from rubble in Poltava region

Russian forces attacked Poltava Oblast overnight on May 26, damaging residential areas and infrastructure facilities, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.

In the Poltava district, Russian forces destroyed a residential building where an elderly woman lived. Rescuers pulled her from the rubble and handed her over to medics.

Fires caused by the Russian strikes were extinguished. A total of 82 rescuers and 21 units of State Emergency Service equipment were involved in the response.

Russian forces also attacked Odesa with ballistic weapons on the evening of May 25, causing explosions in the city.

The blast wave shattered about 50 windows in five residential buildings. Another 47 windows were damaged at a school.

Four people were injured in the Russian strike on Odesa, and one of them later died.
