Russian forces destroy second bridge in Pokrovsk, disrupting connections to nearby towns

Currently, only one side of the bridge is open for traffic, local officials reported.
A local Telegram channel, Donbas Operative, shared that the so-called "Humpback Bridge" was damaged in the attack, with part of it collapsing.
The shelling occurred at around 5:40 a.m. on Sep. 13.
The day before, on Sep. 12, local authorities reported that Russian forces had destroyed the Dymytrov Bridge, which had connected Pokrovsk with the nearby town of Myrnohrad.
The situation in Pokrovsk
As of August, Russian forces were located about 10 kilometers (around 6 miles) from Pokrovsk, according to local authorities.
On Sep. 4, Vadym Filashkin, an official in Pokrovsk, stated that 26,000 people, including 1,076 children, remained in the city. Over 90% of the city's public services had already been shut down.
On Sep. 5, regional officials announced that evacuation trains would no longer stop in Pokrovsk, and would now depart from the city of Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region instead.
Ukraine's top military commander, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Ukrainian forces had managed to halt the advance of Russian troops toward Pokrovsk. According to him, as of Sep. 5, the enemy had not gained any ground in the past six days.
On Sep. 6, Pokrovsk lost power after Russian shelling targeted energy infrastructure. By Sep. 12, the city was also without water.
