Combined Russian missile and drone strike hits Odesa residential building

The Russian strike damaged civil infrastructure assets, including the facade and glazing of a four-story residential building and neighboring structures, alongside several parked cars. In the surrounding Odesa district, the shockwave from a separate missile impact damaged a private residential home.

Lysak confirmed that the attack injured a 17-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman. Odesa Oblast Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper specified that the region faced a combined missile and drone assault that targeted civil infrastructure and institutions in central Odesa.

Preliminary data indicates one of the injured was hospitalized, while authorities continue to clarify the full extent of the damage and total casualty figures.

Air Force reported tracking a guided missile heading toward Odesa and Chornomorsk at 11:23 a.m., following earlier warnings regarding loitering munitions.

Explosions rang out across Odesa overnight on July 21, preceded by Air Force alerts regarding "Banderol"-type loitering munitions approaching the city.

Nationwide, Russia launched a mass attack utilizing 58 strike drones — including jet-powered models, Gerbera, Italmaz, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodia decoy drones.

By 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense intercepted, shot down, or electronically suppressed 46 Russian UAVs, Banderol munitions, and other drone types across the country's northern, southern, and eastern oblasts.
