Emergency shutdowns were imposed in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk oblasts at Ukrenergo’s directive.
Authorities in Kirovohrad Oblast also warned residents about power outages:
"As of February 4, 2025, from 07:42 a.m., at the instruction of Ukrenergo, the emergency shutdown schedule has been activated within the Unified Energy System of Ukraine," Kirovohradoblenergo reported.
Power cuts are also in effect in Sumy Oblast.
"In compliance with Ukrenergo order, as of 07:38 a.m., emergency shutdowns are in effect for the first group in Sumy Oblast," local energy providers announced.
Sumyoblenergo noted that the emergency shutdown schedule does not coincide with the scheduled rolling blackout plan, and hourly blackouts are not being applied at this time.
The destruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure due to ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks is the primary reason for these forced power outages, Ukrenergo explained earlier.
