Russian drone strike tears through 21-story Odesa tower, injuring 17

Russian drone strike injured 17 people, including three children, and struck a 21-story residential building in Odesa, City Military Administration Head Serhii Lysak reported on Sept. 3. 

The strike heavily damaged apartments from the 10th through the 17th floors of the 21-story residential tower and damaged vehicles parked in an adjacent lot.

Municipal utility teams and emergency response personnel remain on the scene as cleanup operations continue, Lysak added.

Around 1 a.m., Ukrainian Air Force issued warnings regarding incoming jet-powered UAVs in Odesa Oblast. The city military administration later reported a direct hit on the high-rise and an initial count of eight injured victims before updating the total.

Explosions were also reported overnight across Ternopil, Kyiv, and Kyiv Oblast.
